Built for Goulburn-Murray Water – Lock 11, Mildura
Designed, constructed and fitted out entirely by Baldwin Boats, this purpose-built 4.5 metre aluminium work vessel has been custom engineered for Goulburn-Murray Water to serve as the primary work boat and tender for Lock 11 on the Murray River at Mildura.
Built to meet the requirements of a Commercial Non-Survey Vessel (Class 2E), this vessel has been designed to provide exceptional stability, reliability and ease of operation while performing a wide range of daily maintenance, inspection and operational tasks around the lock and weir.
Constructed from marine-grade aluminium throughout, the vessel combines a practical, heavy-duty work platform with a hull design that delivers outstanding stability at rest while remaining quick to plane and economical to operate. Whether transporting personnel, equipment or conducting maintenance operations, the vessel offers the durability and performance required for demanding commercial service.
Powered by a Mercury 60hp SeaPro outboard, the package delivers proven commercial-grade reliability, excellent fuel efficiency and ample performance for both slow-speed manoeuvring and higher-speed transit between work locations.
The side console configuration maximises usable deck space while providing excellent visibility and comfortable ergonomics for the operator. A simple, practical layout ensures unrestricted movement around the vessel, making it ideal for loading equipment and safely carrying out work on the water.
Every aspect of the build has been completed in-house by Baldwin Boats, from initial fabrication and welding through to fit-out, electrical installation, rigging and final commissioning.
To complete the package, the vessel is paired with a custom-modified Mackay Trailer, built to suit the hull for safe transport, easy launching and long-term durability.
